A Review on Synthesis, Reaction and Biological Importance of Isatin Derivatives

Isatin is a heterocyclic nitrogen compound that has attracted much interest in recent years due to its diverse biological and pharmacological activities. It can be used many medical applications, such as antidiabetic, antibiotic, anticancer agents. The isatin molecule also prepared from different substrates by various methods, the methods of Sandmeyer, Stolle, Gassman, Meanwell Hewawasam others. On other hand, undergo chemical reactions, oxidation, Friedel-Crafts reaction, ring expansion, aldol condensation, alkylation reactions. As result these several biologically useful biomolecules are formed, including 2-oxindoles, tryptanthrin, indirubins Therefore, aim this review was provide an overview synthetic derivatives examine reactions it undergoes. In addition, list some recently documented activities compiled, antibacterial, anticancer, properties.
